T. James Cook
Author of: Personal Development Programs
Jim Cook graduated as a Chartered Accountant in 1972. In addition to his accounting background, Jim is a writer, seminar leader and a professional speaker. Since 1982, through his company Access Management, he has developed and delivered hundreds of seminars and workshops to thousands of individuals on business management and personal development topics ranging from Cash Management to Stress Management, and Marketing, to Managing your Time.
He has made presentations on behalf of Federal and Provincial government departments, Universities and Colleges, Major Canadian Corporations, small and medium sized businesses, and numerous sessions for the general public. In addition to seminars, Jim has written a number of articles for National and Provincial magazines on business management and personal development topics. He is currently a member of the Manitoba Writer's Guild.
From 1993 to 1998 Jim delivered self-employment programs on behalf of Human Resources Development Canada. In addition to providing training in business related topics such as marketing and financial management, Jim recognized that many would-be entrepreneurs were having difficulty coping with the stress of starting their own business.
He developed the Stress Mastery program to help them deal not only with the new stresses, but all of the existing stresses in their lives. Reducing stress levels was a major factor in helping the participants to successfully achieve their goals.
Jim has self-published two books, Speak Up, a guide to improving your public speaking skills, and The Survival Accounting Manual, a primer for non-accountants. His Stress Mastery Program (Seize Control), Speak Up manual and the Effective Goal Setting manual (Success Now) have been adapted for distribution over the Internet.
