Nora M. Mulligan
I was born in New Jersey, second oldest of five children. It's no wonder I'm loud and boisterous; family get-togethers can be heard for miles.
I've lived in Washington, D.C., Madison, Wisconsin, and Somerville, Massachusetts, before finally landing in Peekskill, New York, a small city on the Hudson River, where I presently live with my husband, 11 year old daughter, and two cats.
My undergraduate education was at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where I graduated with a B.A. with honors in History. I studied law at Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude, and then practiced law for 11 years in New York.
I started writing in fifth grade, and have been at it ever since. My first publication was in a True Confessions magazine when I was in college, but, since I didn't get a byline, I hardly mention that to people (besides, people look askance when you refer to yourself as the author of "Me, Have an Affair? Never! Then I Met My Husband's Best Friend", a title which I didn't choose, by the way). My first paying byline was in Marion Zimmer Bradley's Fantasy Magazine ("Legacy,"), followed by two publications in Lost Worlds ("The Green Bottle" and "Daughter of the Flame," reprinted on my web site), and a story in Dragonlaugh e-zine ("Calling the Unicorn"). My first published novel is Transformations.
I want to thank my family and friends for all the support they've given my writing over the years. They've been wonderful!
