Jay Rogers
Author of: Honor in Time
Like many people my age, it took me several tries to graduate college. I finally succeeded after the usual six years and five changes of major. I spent several years in the Marines and did two tours in Vietnam. Travel can be very broadening especially when fully funded by the government.Eventually I got started with my real life which has led me through several occupations, including self-employment with varying degrees of success. I'm an amateur historian who has concentrated on American history and I applied much of that interest in writing my novel, Honor in Time.
Today I live with my beautiful wife in the mountains of New York.
Five Words I Would Use to Describe Myself:
Independent, Sarcastic, Sanguine, Self-reliant
Advice to Aspiring Authors
There are three prerequisites to writing. First make sure you have a story to tell, so you have to live life. Its hard to write if you are boring.Second, read all the time. Mix other peoples ideas up with your experiences and see what you come up with. Lastly, be persistant. You will get better at writing, like most things, if you keep at it.
